Establishment of a Peer-Reviewed Academic Journal
As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen academic production and research dissemination, the Canadian Institute for Middle East and Gulf Studies (CIMEGS) convened a dedicated meeting to discuss the launch of a peer-reviewed academic journal under the institute’s banner.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous decision to establish the journal, which will serve as a platform for publishing high-quality, interdisciplinary research focusing on Canada, the Middle East, and the Gulf regions. The journal aims to foster critical scholarship, encourage regional and international academic dialogue, and support evidence-based analysis on topics of strategic, economic, cultural, and environmental relevance.
In the spirit of inclusive collaboration, all affiliated researchers and contributors are invited to submit proposals concerning the journal’s title, thematic scope, editorial structure, peer-review process, and publishing model. These proposals will help shape the foundational identity and long-term vision of the journal.
📅 Deadline for submission of proposals: April 20, 2025
This initiative reflects CIMEGS’s commitment to academic excellence and its role as a hub for knowledge exchange and scholarly innovation across Canadian and Middle Eastern academic spheres.
