Every book proposal accepted for review is read by no fewer than two independent scholars from outside the editorial team. Review is double blind: the identities of authors and reviewers are not disclosed to one another.

Reviewers weigh the work for method, originality, contribution to knowledge, and accuracy. The editorial board then decides to accept the book, request revisions, or decline it. Every decision rests on scholarly merit alone.

We document review at the level of each book, so the process remains open to scrutiny by libraries and indexing services.
